Its been a tough time but we are moving along, very well! The system is stable and fast! We have a number of commercial clients and are getting ready to add the residential ones, this upcoming Tuesday. I can’t tell you how amazing it is to be in Yelapa and have high speed Internet. The best of two worlds! Thanks to all for your patience!

Dialed in the hotel and my office just like planned today. We deserve a party or a vacation! So.. if you are thinking we jumped the gun by announcing High Speed Internet in Yelapa.. well today is a perfect day to announce it instead. We will be working on speed and improvement as we monitor everything and then continue with other installs. The speed is better than we expected and todays test was great ..even through the pounding rain.

We did it.. we made it past he crucial part ! The past weeks have been intense and filled with stress. We have had to dissect our entire project, piece by piece and finally we have solved the problem. We replaced the main send and receive antennas for others and that was the issue. Somehow the new units we bought were not good for our rural setting. Now we continue to tweak the system and fine tune everything. Tomorrow, the Hotel Lagunita goes live and my office also. We will keep you updated..Yelapa Internet Lives!

We have not been happy with the stability of our main link and after a few weeks of problem solving we are replacing the main link with a much bigger dish. The main dish will go online tomorrow. We will keep you updated.

We all met in Yelapa today to work on the main link. A major rainstorm hit just as Max and family got on the water taxi from Boca. After a wild hike to the highest point and a few slips and falls..Max and Jaime fine tuned the main signal during the rain downfall. Tomorrow we all start early and fine tune at the Hotel and then make our most important installation…my office! I can barely sleep! I’ve been dreaming of this day for years.

It’s going to take a bit to get the system stable . We are doing a lot of communications and running around due to the lack of cell phone coverage in Yelapa. Hey… maybe that will be our next project..heheh or jejeje Once we get things solid we will be working on the billing.

Wednesday August 12, 2009 is a day to remember.
The installer came on Wednesday, after a small delay, to set up the system. In about 2 hours, all was set up and we did some testing. CNN, YouTube,…Etc. They came in like a tsunami. Unbelievable fast considering the place we are….Yelapa! We are in the 21st century thanks to Cove Media. I know how hard it can be to get something done in Yelapa and therefore they have all my respect.
Here are some figures from a internet speedtest website:
Download : 1.34 Mb/sec. Downloading a 5 MB file takes 30 sec!
Upload : 0.74 Mb/sec Uploading a e-mail attachment of 1 MB takes 11 sec!
High-speed internet is in Yelapa!! And it is fast….super fast!
I just hope that the electricity is not going down to much.

We called to check on the system today and our client laughed! ” We haven’t had power all day! ” Good thing we have a battery backup installation planned soon.
